I am a Civil Mediation Council (CMC) Registered Mediator, IMI Qualified Mediator and Member of the Society of Mediators. With more than 20 years’ experience working across commercial and legal sectors both in the UK and internationally. I support businesses, individuals and legal professionals in resolving civil, commercial and workplace disputes. Based in Devon, I mediate throughout the UK and internationally.
I have experience dealing with a wide range of civil and commercial disputes, including commercial contract disputes, intellectual property conflicts, debt and insolvency matters, partnership, director and shareholder disputes, construction and building disputes, property and land related conflicts, including landlord and tenant disputes, together with wills, probate and trusts matters.
I have worked in senior roles within multinational organisations as well as regional and international law firms. As an international commercial contracts manager for Thales Group, I negotiated high-value, complex commercial agreements, including international aerospace contracts, software licensing, intellectual property provisions and OEM arrangements. I have extensive experience as a negotiator coupled with an excellent knowledge of contract law and am a member of the World Commerce and Contracting Association. In addition I have worked as an insolvency examiner for the Department of Trade and Industry and as a county court advocate representing major banks and individuals in mortgage possession and debt claim matters. I bring this wealth of experience with me into each mediation.
Alongside my commercial work, I have held senior roles within the charitable sector. I am Director of the literacy charity Little Free Library Project UK and have managed legacy funding for a major Devon-based charity. These roles have strengthened my skills in sensitive negotiation, governance and consensus-building, particularly where emotional, financial and reputational considerations intersect.
I have also worked within national and international law firms, including Gowling WLG, London and Foot Anstey, Exeter, complementing my mediation practice with hands-on legal experience. I hold a BA in Politics and International Relations, a Postgraduate Diploma in Law and a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice. I completed my Civil and Commercial Mediation training with the Society of Mediators, Middle Temple, London and am qualified as a mediator with the International Mediation Institute (IMI).
